Kevin J. Davis, age 57, of Orangeville, IL, passed away at his home, he fought 3 years and won the battle against colon cancer, on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 28, 1958, in Freeport, IL. the son of Roscoe and Marlene (Stites) Davis. Kevin was a 1977 graduate of Orangeville High School and a graduate of Highland Community College with a degree in welding.
Kevin and Lisa Wenger were married on October 20, 1979 in Rock Grove, IL.
Kevin was an inside sales manager in the Snow and Ice Department at Monroe Truck Equipment for 38 years.
He was a member of Grace Free Methodist Church in McConnell, IL; the Orangeville Fire Department from 1983-2004; he then served as trustee from 2005 till present. Kevin enjoyed the family farm, yard work, gardening, home remodeling projects, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, but his biggest joy, was spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa, of Orangeville, IL; children: Joseph (Ashley) Davis of Orangeville, IL., Rachel (Ryan) Miller of Benton, WI, Casey (Cody) Berndt of Orangeville, IL; grandchildren: Lexi, Jaxsyn, Griffin, Lylah and Gavin; brothers, Brian (Rosalie) Davis of Harlingen, TX, Mark (Mary Richel) Davis of Orangeville, IL; sister, Lisa (Todd) Flannery of Monroe.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 7th, at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church 111 S. East Street, in Orangeville, IL. with Reverend Paul Alf officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 6th, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Ave., in Monroe.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Kevin's memory for Colon Cancer awareness and research.
