Orangeville - Kermit O. Wolf, 103, of Orangeville, IL passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe, WI. He was born on September 7, 1905 in Stockton, IL. He was the son of Edwin and Martha (Boeck) Wolf.
Kermit was raised as a boy in the Staver Church area of Green County, WI. He married Hilda Elsbeth Stauffacher on February 14, 1929. Hilda passed away in November 1981.
Together they farmed in the Staver area and in 1942 they moved to Orangeville where they continued to farm. Following his retirement Kermit worked at W.T. Raliegh in Freeport and Oscar Mayer in Orangeville for a number of years. Kermit and Hilda enjoyed traveling, and spending time at their cabin on Lake Koshkonong near Edgerton,WI. He also enjoyed restoring antique furniture. Kermit was a life long member of the Orangeville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include 2 Sons Keith (Gladys) Wolf of Orangeville, IL and Howard (Anita) Wolf of Freeport, IL. 6 Grandchildren; Doreen (Patrick) O'Brien of Oregon, IL. Donna (Doug) Lamb of Colona, IL. Thomas Wolf of Orangeville, IL Delores (Russ) Robb of New Windsor, IL. Tyson (Michelle) Wolf of Pearl City, IL Dionis (Robert) Fleischer of Freeport, Il. 11 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandson, 3 Step great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Prudence Gruenburg of Beloit, WI. and Lovedy (Charles) Love of Mesa, AZ. and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 2 brothers Russell and Quinton, 1 Brother in-law Gary Gruenberg and 1 Sister in-law Mabel Wolf.
Services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM.
Orangeville United Methodist Church in Orangeville, IL.
Rev. Bruce James will officiate the services.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 from 9:00 to time of service at the Orangeville United Methodist Church.
Burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL.
A memorial has been established in his name.
