Joyce M. Bergemann, age 84 passed away in the love and comfort of her family, Friday June 1, 2012.
Joyce was born on August 20, 1927 in Monroe, WI the daughter of Allen and Edna (Pfund) Lindsay. She married Roy E. Bergemann on January 31, 1948 at Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe and enjoyed over 50 years of marriage.
Joyce worked for Burgess Battery and retired from Frito Lay in Monroe after 25+ years of employment. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and Jordan Lutheran Church in Browntown.
Joyce lived life to the fullest and always had a positive attitude. Her favorite things included bingo, card playing, dancing and trips to the casino. She enjoyed socializing with family and friends and was always the life of the party. She also loved spending time with great-grandson Ayden. She especially enjoyed her daily Rummy games with Carol and the time she spent with her niece Kathy. Her strength and love of life sustained her through many difficult health issues.
She is survived by two sons of Monroe, Gordon (Ruth) Bergemann and Steven (Cindy Kennebeck) Bergemann; three grandchildren Aaron (wife Allison Wither) Bergemann of Berlin, Germany; Shauna Bergemann of Monroe and Chad Bergemann of Monroe; three great-grandchildren Jacob and Mackenzie Bergemann of Traverse City, Michigan and Ayden Bergemann of Monroe. Brother Wallace "Red" Lindsay of Monroe; two sisters Geraldine Swisher of Janesville and Marlene (Irvin) Rohl of Loves Park, IL; sister-in-law Anna Mae Gibbons of Monroe and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Ralph Lindsay, brother-in-laws Chuck Dickson and Don Swisher and sister-in-law Patricia Lindsay and grandsons James Bergemann and Kim Liddicoat.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday June 8, 2012 at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Dr., Monroe, WI. Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 PM on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the funeral home.
