Joyce E. Indergand, age 78 of Monroe, died Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Joyce was born October 17, 1932 in New Glarus, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Leona (Becker) Schneider. She graduated from New Glarus High School and married Delbert Indergand on December 5, 1948 in New Glarus. They farmed in Monroe Township all their married lives until Delbert's death on August 1, 1987. Joyce moved into Monroe in 1989 and was employed at the Monroe Moose Lodge and Super 8 Motel. Joyce was an active member of the Monroe Moose Lodge #754 and Women of the Moose Chapter #599. She was also a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, loved to travel to the casinos in Dubuque, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, playing cards, and listening to the Chicago Cubs and the WEKZ Swiss Program.
Joyce is survived by three sons, Darrell (Margo) Indergand, Kevin (Roxane) Indergand, and Brian Indergand, all of Monroe; four grandchildren, Heidi (Jeff) Gutschow of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Jodi (Tony) Schaaf of Appleton, Jeff (Jill) Indergand of Oshkosh, and Monica Indergand of Monroe; four great-grandchildren, Adam Gutschow, Noah and Brendan Schaaf, and Matthew Indergand; two brothers, Don (Doris) Schneider of Ankeny, Iowa, John (Ann) Schneider of Orlando, FL; a sister, Judith (Edmund) Zingg of Verona; and a special friend, Fred Mueller of New Glarus.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 6, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at St. John's United Church of Christ, Monroe, with Rev. Gretchen Sylvester officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, followed by a luncheon at the Monroe Moose Lodge. Visitation will be at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, on Sunday, June 5, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Women of the Moose Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Joyce's name.
