Joyce E. Fritsch, age 82, of Monroe, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at her home. Joyce was born on January 20, 1932 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Ralph and Eileen (Sack) Quies. Joyce married Oscar Fritsch on November 10, 1951 in Rockford, IL.
Joyce worked at Micro Switch, Freeport, IL, from 1951-1967. In 1967 Joyce was co-owner of the popular "Donut Shop" in Monroe. After the Donut Shop she worked as bookkeeper for Citizen's Loan & Finance, Cuna Credit Union, and then Century-21 Zwgart Real Estate, retiring from Century 21 in the late 1990s.
Joyce was a former member of Monroe Ladies of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed singing with the "Sweet Adeline's," bowling, boating, gardening, reading and cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Eugene (Heidi) Quies of Fort Atkinson, daughter, Linda "Alex" (Daniel) McIlvanie of Rock City, IL; 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Jerry) Larson of Cedar Rapids, IA; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Oscar in 1988; a sister, Delores Sager; daughters, Betty McKillip and Anna Fritsch and 4 children in infancy.
Cremation services were accorded to her wishes. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., in Monroe, WI, with Pastor Randy Nicholas officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
