Jon K. Johnson, 69, Durand, Illinois died at 9:00 p.m., Monday, December 16, 2013 in Medina Manor after a lengthy illness.
Born February 26, 1944 in Wheelsburg, Ohio, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William R. and Mary E. (Creech) Johnson. He was employed as a custodian by Swiss Colony for more than nine years.
Survivors include sisters, Carma J. (James) Ruggles, Durand, Illinois and Shirley Jenkins, Oak Hill, Ohio; brothers, William G. (Pat) Johnson, Portsmouth, Ohio and Daniel J. (Pat) Johnson, Euclid, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Memorial ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014 in McCorkle Funeral Home-Durand Chapel, 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois with Pastor Brian Channel of Durand United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Durand Township Cemetery. Cremation rites were accorded.
