DARLINGTON/BELLEVILLE - Joann T. Reichling, age 77 of Darlington, WI died on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 19, 1935 in Sun Prairie, WI to Ferdinand and Leonora (Walch) Dohm. She was taught by the sisters of Sacred Heart and graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1953.
She was united in marriage to Donald G. Mandt on October 1, 1955. They farmed in Black Earth before moving to Belleville in 1976. Together they raised six children. Donald died on August 2, 1985.
She then met and married David Reichling on July 29, 1988 and moved to Darlington, WI.
Joann lived life to its fullest with family and friends by her side. She was an avid bowler, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she was a lector, its Council of Catholic Women, and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, the Darlington Homemakers where she help start the Head Start reading program, the book donation to the Peace Corps, and helped establish the Children's library. She was also a member of the Darlington Garden Club, and the Monthly Mana. She was on the Board of Directors of Landmark Services Cooperative from 1985-2005.
Survivors include her husband, David; her six children Greg (Marklin) Mandt of Alexandria, VA, Brian (Donna) Mandt, Karla (Greg) Hurd both of Belleville, Jody (Dave) Wyttenbach of New Glarus, Randy (Deborah) Mandt of Columbus, Ohio, Teresa (Cory) McMahan of Belleville; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; her stepchildren: Sherry (Dennis) Crist, Joe (Gina) Reichling, Tom (Kris) Reichling, Pat (Diane) Reichling, Ed (Tammy) Reichling all of Darlington area, Sheila (Robert) Williams of Mt. Horeb, a step son-in-law Lane Thompson of rural Mineral Point; 24 stepgrandchildren; 31 step great-grandchildren; two sisters Juanita (Donald) Hoepker of DeForest, and Rita Pulgin of Atlanta, Georgia; a brother LaVerne (Arlene) Dohm of Belleville; two sisters-in-law Char Dohm of Middleton, and Maggie Dohm of Madison; a brother-in-law Jerry Ring of Madison; daughter-in-law Sue Ace of Belleville; her sister-in-law Maggie Dohm of Madison; daughter-in-law Sue Ace of Belleville; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her first husband, Donald, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Armella Ring and Mary Gertrude, a brother: Gerard Dohm, a step daughter: Theresa Thompson, and a brother-in-law: Richard Reichling.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 104 E. Harriet St., Darlington, WI with Fr. Randy Budnar officiating. Burial will be at the Belleville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 6:00 PM on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at STEIL CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 206 E. Harriet St., Darlington, WI where a Catholic Daughters of the Americas Rosary will be prayed at 3:00 PM.
