Jesse Bahler, age 78, of Argyle, died on Friday, February 15, 2008. He was born on December 31, 1929, in Lafayette County, the son of Arnold and Marie (Zurcher) Bahler. He attended the Engelbretson Grade School.
Jesse and Margaret Hefty were married on September 7, 1963, at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe. He was a farm worker and herdsman in the Lafayette County area the greater part of his life. Jesse was currently a crossing guard for Argyle Schools. He enjoyed all sports , but was an avid Chicago White Sox fan.
He is survived by his brothers Werner of Monroe and Robert Daniel of Atlanta, Ga., brother-in-law Robert Steinman and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Margaret; son, Michael; brother, Walter; sisters Leona Hanson, and Rosie Steinman.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Avenue in Monroe. Officiating will be Fr. David Wanish, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
