Jeanne M. Tregoning age 75 of Madison, WI formerly of Shullsburg, WI passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Meriter Hospital surrounded by family. She was born December 25, 1940 in Green Bay, WI the daughter of Jerome J and June M (Flint) Brunette. Jeanne graduated from Nicolet High School in West DePere, WI in 1958 and later went on to receive her degree in Business Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1965 and ultimately her Masters of Science Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1988. She was united in marriage to Joseph E. Tregoning on March 2, 1971. Jeanne worked as Academic Staff at UW-Platteville for many years, before moving to Madison, WI and becoming a Grants Coordinator for the Department of Corrections until her retirement in 2010.

Jeanne is survived by her husband Joseph at home, and her son Joshua (Andrea) Tregoning of Evansville, WI; 3 grandchildren: Ila, Lilia & Kass; her service Golden Retriever: Agape; one brother: John (Yon Tuk) Brunette of Richmond, VA; sisters: Julie Brunette of Madison, JoPat (Joseph) Frechette of Fenton, IL, Jill (Don) Greunke of Apple Valley, MN and Jennifer (Dennis) Steckbauer of Byron, IL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother: Jerome Brunette; her two previous service Golden Retrievers: Einstein & Mozart.

Jeanne has had many accomplishments over the years, including Alumni Awards from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater & Platteville. In 1985, 14 years after her accident, Jeanne took the initiative to get her driver's license and began driving again. Later in 1994, Jeanne's drive and determination had her run for the State Treasurer's Office. Jeanne's main passion was serving the Lord and an active member of the Chapel Valley Community Church and second to that was serving people. Jeanne volunteered with Easter Seals, served as Chairman of the Wisconsin Arts Board after being appointed by three different Governors, volunteered with the Salvation Army, Phi Beta Kappa, and the Madison Literacy Council. When Jeanne was not volunteering for an organization, she was lending her talents to assist children and college students by tutoring them with reading or study skills. Her hobbies included being an avid bridge player, a veracious reader, following the Wisconsin Badger sports teams, but most of all was a diehard Green Bay Packers Fan seeing them in Super Bowl XLIV in Dallas, TX.

A visitation will be held Monday, August 15, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:15 P.M. with a "time of sharing" to follow at 7:30 P.M. at Gunderson Fitchburg Funeral Home (2950 Chapel Valley Rd, Fitchburg). A visitation will also be held Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:45 P.M. at Centenary United Methodist Church (226 W. Church Street, Shullsburg) where a funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Tim M. Genin of Chapel Valley Church in Madison officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Shullsburg.
