NEW GLARUS - Jeanette B. Brand, age 83, of New Glarus passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the New Glarus Home. She was born on February 28, 1930 in Monroe to her parents Ivan and Iona (Itten) Zweifel. Jeanette graduated from New Glarus High School in 1947. On May 10, 1952 she was united in marriage to Arthur Brand at the Swiss Church Parsonage in New Glarus. Jeanette worked as a bookkeeper at Disch Hardware, Knobel Garage, Kubly-Richert Chevrolet, and other New Glarus businesses. She was a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ and volunteer at the New Glarus Home.
Jeanette is survived by her children; Paul (Laura) Brand of Elkhorn, WI, Edward (Kristin) Brand of Verona, WI, and Mary Brand of Madison, WI, grandchildren; Travis, Christine, Samuel, and Jonathan; and a sister Georgia Babler of Monroe, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur in 2000, daughter Barbara in 1961, and brothers Wilmer "Bill" Zweifel in 1996 and James LaVerne in 1935.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the New Glarus Home Chapel, 600 Second Ave., New Glarus, WI (access from Elm Dr.), with Pastor Tim Nybroten officiating with burial in the Swiss Church Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call from noon until time of service on Saturday at the New Glarus Home Chapel.
A memorial fund has been established.
