Jackie L. "Jack" Drake, age 77, of Monroe, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Monroe Manor. He was born on February 4, 1936 in Kansas City, Kansas, son of Clyde and Ruby (Cates) Drake. He Married Virginia Goepfert on February 4, 1959 in Yellowstone Lutheran Church. They would have been married 55 years.
Jack served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. The last year was in Korea.
He worked for Arrow Sales and worked for Moore Business Forms (now R.R. Donnelly) for 20 years. After retiring from Moore's he drove school bus for 7 years. Jack loved his kids on the bus. He had pictures of all of them.
Jack was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
He enjoyed fishing and playing euchre and collected truck banks. Jack had a large collection of western music and enjoyed playing CDs.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Virginia, of Monroe; children: Tammy Drake of Blanchardville; Timothy (Lisa) Drake of Lena, IL; Jeffrey Drake of Janesville; Jackie (Chad) Boeck of Monroe; 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
