PECATONICA, Ill. — Illinois State Police District 16 Commander, Lieutenant Joseph Blanchette, announced District 16 enforcement figures and activity for the month of January 2022.
Illinois State Police District 16 Troopers issued 291 total citations and 358 written warnings during the month of January. Speed violations accounted for 107 citations. Eight citations were issued for occupant restraint violations and 16 enforcement documents were issued for distracted driving violations.
Troopers investigated 40 traffic crashes and assisted 129 motorists. Eighty-three commercial motor vehicle inspections were completed with 12 drivers and/or vehicles being placed out of service.
Troopers made nine arrests for driving under the influence and 24 criminal arrests. Five enforcement documents were issued for Scott’s Law violations.
District 16, which encompasses Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Winnebago, and Boone Counties, had four traffic fatalities in January.
