LENA - Howard H. Haeft, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, IL after a massive stroke. He was born on July 14, 1932 in Wayne Township, WI. to Carl and Margaret (Krupke) Haeft. He married Beulah Hauser on October 8, 1966 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe, WI.
He worked 35 years in Freeport at Micro-Switch/Honeywell until retiring in 1994. From 1995 he delivered flowers for DeVoe Floral until the time of his death. He was a member of the Lena United Methodist Church. Howard liked to travel. Howard took great pride in his flowers, and he loved to share them with the people in his life.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah 3 sisters; Belva Koehler of Freeport, IL., Barbara (Jim) Quinn of Union Grove, WI., and Marcia Eichmeier of Pearl City, IL., 1 sister in-law; JoAnne Haeft of Milledgeville, IL., 1 aunt; Vada Jackson of Warren, IL. Numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister; Jeannette Carter, 1 brother; LaVerne Haeft, 2 brothers in laws; Bill Koehler and Gary Eichmeier.
Funeral Service will take place 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012 with a visitation from noon until time of service at the United Methodist Church in Lena, IL.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Leamon Funeral Home, Lena, IL.
Reverend Brian LaBaron will officiate the service.
Interment will be held at the Lena Burial Park, Lena, IL.
A memorial has been established for the United Methodist Church.
