JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - Helen Catherine Olmstead, 67 of Jacksonville, passed away at her home early on Sunday morning March 16, 2014. Helen moved to Jacksonville, NC in 1985 with her daughters from Monroe, WI to live near her son who was stationed at Camp Lejuene.

She is survived by her son: Leonard "Len" J. Olmstead and Connie Ashford of Warsaw, daughters: Amy L. Payne, Alan Payne and grandson Liam Payne of Greenville, Crystal C. Eason, Russell Eason and grandchildren Shawn and Michelle Brown of Warsaw, and Marissa A. Fisher and James Boring of Jacksonville. Helen's brothers: Larry Kittoe and Kim Kittoe of Kansas City, MO and Ron Kittoe and Joani Kittoe of Clinton, IA, sisters: Sherry Roddick and Dick Roddick of Shullsburg, WI, Patricia Teasdale and Patrick Teasdale of Monroe, WI, and Janice Prechel of Monroe, WI.

A visitation will take place at Johnson Funeral Home of Jacksonville on Monday at 12 PM. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Monday following the visitation also at Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Burden officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW Post 9133 Ladies Auxiliary and to Sarah's Refuge Inc. in Helen's name.
