Hazel M. Brugger, age 94 of Monroe, Wisconsin, died Thursday, September 9, 2010 at her home at Angelus Retirement. She was born October 2, 1915 in Green County, WI, the daughter of Emil and Bertha (Stoll) Tschabold and attended Dolan School.
Hazel and John Brugger Jr. were married on September 18, 1937 in Monroe and they farmed in Sylvester Township on Highway 59 for 68 years. Hazel was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe and Guild, Women of the Moose Chapter No. 599, Brodhead Senior Center, Balls Mill Homemakers, GUGG, and enjoyed card clubs, and Puzzle Books.
Surviving are her sons, Roger (Karen) Brugger of rural Monticello and Gary (Betty) Brugger of rural Monroe; grandchildren, Brian, David, Todd, and Michael Brugger, Lisa Stauffacher, Lori Brugger, and Melissa DeRemer; great-grandchildren, Kala, Tyler, Ryan, Eric, Josh, Nick, Devan, Colton, Lance, Caitlyn, Mia, Alena, and Kaelee; step-granddaughter, Holly Nilles; and brother-in-law, Clarence Steiner of Monroe. She is predeceased by her parents; husband, John; grandson, Thomas Brugger; sisters, Dorothy Broege and Norma Steiner; and brothers, Clarence and Delbert Tschabold.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Avenue in Monroe with Rev. William T. Mike Heath officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to time of service at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
