Harlan C. Bredeson, age 90, of Fayette Township, WI, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Lafayette Manor in Darlington following a stroke. He was born February 20, 1923 in Fayette Township the second son of George and Esther (Erickson) Bredeson. Harlan farmed his entire life with his father and brother, Donald, in Fayette Township.
Harlan is survived by one brother: Donald Bredeson of Fayette; three nieces: Linda (John) Williamson of Madison, WI, Karen (John) Mack of DeForest, WI, and Jean Anderson of Madison; three nephews: Bill (Sheila) Bredeson of Fayette, Brian Bredeson of Darlington, and Dan (Dominique) Bredeson of Arroyo Grande, CA; four great-nephews, who brought him much delight: Cody, Hunter, and Beau Bredeson of Fayette, and Liam Bredeson of Arroyo Grande, CA; and several extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: LaVerne Bredeson in 1985; one sister: June Bredeson in 2010; two sisters-in-law: Diana Bredeson in 2008 and Florence Bredeson in 2011; and one great-nephew: Kyle Perrin in 2010.
Harlan was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanchardville, WI. He enjoyed following the Darlington Redbirds, Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, and was a big fan of both the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers. Harlan also enjoyed going out for breakfast every morning, going to the Yellowstone Lake Dairy Stand, and as a younger man, playing baseball.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 304 School Street in Blanchardville, WI, with Rev. Mark Gruner of Pecatonica Lutheran Parish officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Friday, March 8, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home, 508 Main Street in Darlington.
