Gregory Lyle Reddick of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on May 18, 2014, at Finley Hospital, Dubuque, Iowa.
In keeping with his wishes, his remains will be cremated and there will be no public visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Greg was born on June 1, 1943, in Janesville, Wisconsin, the son of Everett and Bonetha (Ferguson) Reddick. Greg started out his career as an electrician for Moldt Electric. He worked for many years as facilities manager for William C. Brown (Times Mirror, McGraw Hill), and then he was President and CEO of American Commercial Realty until his retirement in 2013. He was united in marriage to Karen Bohn-Gmur; they have been married for 47 years. Greg was a member of the Mighty Mississippi Chapter of the Harley's Owner "Hog" Group.
Greg is survived by his wife, Karen; 6 children, Jacob (Pam) Fergusson of Cedar Rapids, Laurie Ferring, Lana (Mike) Heiderscheit, Lynn Gmur (Ron Leubka), Shawn (Tracy) Reddick, all of Dubuque, Laurie-Lynn (Jim) Augsburg, Elburn, Illinois; 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren; stepfather, Carl Goecks; siblings, Jon (Deede) Goecks, Alan Goecks, Carla Goecks all of California. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Greg passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer; the family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Thomas O'Dorisio from University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and Dr. Mark Hermann of Dubuque Internal Medicine, over the 9 years there grew a great friendship trying to battle this disease. Also, special thanks to the Finley nursing staff/techs on 5th floor Medical/Surgical for taking wonderful care of Greg.
