Gladys M. Stricker, age 86, of Monroe, died on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on November 23, 1921 in Monroe, the daughter of Rudy and Rosa (Blum) Kundert. Gladys and Fred Stricker were married in 1946 in Dubuque, Iowa. She worked for Armor Foods for over 30 years.
Gladys is survived by her children, Leilani Erb of Juda and Alan Stricker, Monroe; grandchildren, Christopher Erb (Laci Westgard) of Monroe, Shannon Stricker (Jason Bauer) of Atlanta, Georgia; former daughter-in-law, Jocelyn Kline; her frequent visitors, her dogs, Stormy and Quin. Gladys was predeceased by her parents; husband, Fred; and brother, Harvey Kundert.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2008 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. The Rev. Thomas Miller of Zion United Methodist Church in Juda will officiate. A memorial fund is being established in Gladys' memory.
