Gerald A. Seffrood, age 72, of Monroe, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015 at his home. He was born on October 17, 1942 in Darlington, the son of Cyrus and Eva (Conley) Seffrood.
Gerald served in the U.S. Army from April, 1964 to April, 1967 during the Vietnam War, and was in Army Reserves until April, 1970.
Gerald and Kathy Kloepping were married on September 7, 1985 in Monroe.
He worked for TDS Telecom for 48 years and recently worked for Super 8 Motel.
He was a member of Clarno Zion United Methodist Church; Browntown Fire Department; Utelco Pioneers; Cecil Jones V.F.W. Post #2312, former Boy Scout Leader; and coached little league for many years. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed Nascar Races with Matt Kenseth behind the wheel. He also enjoyed woodworking, camping with his family and loved his pets.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of Monroe; sons, Brandon Seffrood of Sauk City; Brett Seffrood of Monroe; Stephen Seffrood of Freeport, IL; daughters, Daniell (Jon) Brunner of Monroe; Jenny Roddick of Darlington; brother, Francis Seffrood of Copperas Cove, TX; sisters, Shirley Miller and Carol Seffrood both of Warren, IL; and 7 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Charlotte Minkey, Catherine Diestelmeier, brothers, John Seffrood and Cyrus Jr. Seffrood, and brother-in-law, David Kloepping.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home with Pastor David Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, August 10th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
