G. Nicholas Brummel, age 89, of South Wayne, died on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his home. He was born on October 19, 1925 in Naperville, IL; the son of Leo and Gertrude (Modaff) Brummel. Nicholas served 2 years in the U.S. Army.

Nicholas and Loretta (Rood) were married on May 18, 1957 in Sandwich, IL.

Nicholas was a dairy farmer his entire life, first in Illinois and later in Wisconsin, retiring in 1994. Nick also worked at Swiss Colony for 10 years while he was farming.

Nicholas was a member of St John's Catholic Church in South Wayne.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta, of South Wayne; sons, Mike Brummel of Argyle; Charles (Theresa) Brummel of Sun Prairie; Roy (Tina) Brummel of South Wayne; Mark Brummel, of South Wayne, brothers, Leo Brummel of Olympia, WA; Richard (Alice) Brummel of Yorkville, IL; Ed (Mary Ann) Brummel of St Charles, IL; grandchildren: Ashleigh (Josh) Calaway of Vesper, WI; Nicholas Brummel and Katie Brummel of South Wayne, and great-granddaughter, Alena Calaway.

He is predeceased by his parents; daughter, Linda M. Brummel, brothers, Robert and Henry, sisters, Barbara Jean Koretke and Mary Kammes.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in South Wayne, with Fr. JoJi Thirumalareddy as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in South Wayne.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 29th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., and N. 18th Ave. in Monroe.
