Frank A. Wehinger, age 83 of Monroe, died Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Frank was born June 5, 1926 in Green County, the son of Albert and Mary (Rahberger) Wehinger. He married Janet Hiltbrand on January 21, 1950 at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe.
He farmed in Jefferson and Clarno Townships before moving to Monroe in 1970. Mr. Wehinger worked as a self-employed painter and carpenter for 20 years.
He was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Monroe Council #1471. Frank loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, playing cards, and family trips to Lake Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Wehinger of Monroe; two daughters, Kathy (Taryn) Nall of Oconto Falls, WI, and Laura Webster of Rivers Falls, WI; four grandchildren, Jason and Josh Nall, and Bryan and Dawn Webster; a brother, Robert Wehinger; and three sisters, Mary Gibbons, Emma Wenger, and Rose Craigo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Margaret Davis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe. Celebrant will be Father Michael Klarer, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe.
A visitation will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, with a Knights of Columbus rosary service at 8 p.m. A memorial fund will be established in Frank's name for Monroe Clinic Hospice, Apostolate to the Handicapped, and St. Victor Catholic Church.
