Francis R. "Frank" Sebranek, age 75 of Argyle, WI, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe, WI. He was born November 23, 1933 in Hillsboro, WI, the son of John and Adeline (Vitcenda) Sebranek. Frank graduated from Hillsboro High School 1951 and later received his degree from UW-Eau Claire. He lived in Hillsboro and entered the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1957. Frank was united in marriage to Judith Albrecht on August 12, 1967 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro. He worked for a short time in Madison, WI, at W.A.R.F., a heart research center affiliated with UW-Madison. Frank moved to Janesville, WI, where he worked as a chemist for Dow Chemical Company. He went back to school to receive his teaching degree. He taught Biology, Anatomy Physiology, and Drivers Ed at Pecatonica High School in Blanchardville for 26 years retiring in 1994.
Frank is survived by his wife: Judy; three children: June (Andy) Bartels of rural Darlington, WI, Joel (Chris) Sebranek of Holmen, WI, and Jeff (Sue) Sebranek of Ogden, UT; ten grandchildren: Emily Wilhelmson, Kody and Kelsey Bartels, Will, Luke, and Siri Sebranek, Wyatt and Noah Sebranek, Vincent Bauman, and Celeste Wardle; two brothers: Donald (Elsie) Sebranek of Hillsboro, WI and Robert (Laura) Sebranek of Green Bay, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Christopher Sebranek in infancy; and one sister: Marvelene Sebranek.
Frank was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle, Argyle American Legion Post #251, and Disabled American Veterans Post #67 of Mineral Point.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 213 North Lafayette Street in Argyle with Msgr. Thomas Campion, the Director of the Apostolate to the Handicap of Monroe, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro where military graveside rites will be accorded by Hillsboro American Legion Post #223. A visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, September 7, 2009 at Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.
