Frances Bauman Brecklin, age 86, of Monroe, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe. Frances was born November 19, 1924 in Jefferson Township, the daughter of Lloyd A. and Dora M. (Keister) Leuenberger. She attended Fairfield Rural School in Jefferson Township. She worked as a Certified Nurses Aid at St. Clare Hospital from 1969 until 1977 and also volunteered at the hospital for six years.
She married Gail R. Brecklin on Feb. 3, 1977 in Elkhorn, WI
She was a member of the Monroe Moose Lodge #754, a life member of Monroe Clinic Auxiliary, and was a 4-H Leader at Fairfield School.
She is survived by her husband, Gail Brecklin of Monroe; three children, Diane (Don) Nelson of Brodhead, Barbara (Don) Noble of Monroe, and Ronald (Barb) Bauman of South Wayne; nine grandchildren; and many great and greatgreatgrandchildren. She is further survived by four step-children, Jane Brecklin, Susan (Jonn) Webster, Robert Brecklin, and Barbara (Kenneth) Kelly; and several step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John K. Bauman; a greatgranddaughter, Morgan Bauman in 2007; her first husband, John Bauman in 2009; and two brothers, Lawrence L. and Lloyd L. Leuenberger.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, followed by a luncheon at the Monroe V.F.W. Post #2312. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
