Elizabeth S. Baker age 44 of Monroe, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 21, 2014 following a long battle with Crohn's Disease. Liz was born December 30, 1969 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Dr. Terrence and Ann (Boland) Peters. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1988 and was employed as hair stylist in Monroe for many years. She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe. Liz loved traveling with her family, her dog, Bennett, and gardening.

She is survived by her loving children, Staff Sergeant Colin Baker of Cedarville, IL and Lauren Baker of Platteville; her parents, Terrence and Ann Peters of Pinehurst, N.C.; and four siblings, Jennifer (Kurt) Winrich of Louisville, KY, Jeffrey Peters of San Francisco, CA, Melissa (Nigel) Huddleston of London, England, and Christopher Peters of Charlotte, N.C.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Father Michael Klarer, Celebrant. Burial will be in Saucerman Cemetery, Cadiz Township. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with a rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Liz's name for The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
