Edna was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married and was a charter member of Jordan Lutheran's Women of ELCA. She looked forward to Sunday visitors greeting them with home cooking, making lefse, and Norwegian specialties. Edna also enjoyed preparing birthday cakes for all and celebrating holidays. She would send cards to everyone she knew and re-read multiple times the cards she had received, being a walking calendar for birthdays, anniversaries, or any other date needed. Edna hosted Christmas Eve with all the Jackson family until the family size made it necessary to gather elsewhere, but everyone was still expected to come. Following Christmas gift opening the tradition of playing competitive euchre or 500 (which she didn't plan on losing) while the whole time offering helpful advice to the other card players. Edna's springtime ritual was to bring out her wintered flowers from the basement to thrive again through another summer. She was an avid bird watcher and spent many hours shooing away the squirrels and black birds. Edna enjoyed quilting or crocheting afghans for every child and grandchild, which they eagerly awaited and treasured for many years. Edna along with her sister, Mildred, would decorate the windows of Jordan Lutheran Church. She always had time to help family with home projects or any other needs, stepping up not only as grandma but as fill-in mom for Roger's kids after they lost their mother. Edna's greatest love throughout her life was her enjoyment of family and friends. Through her words of wisdom, advice, and acts of kindness she taught her family and friends many lessons.
