Edith M. Kloepping, 95, of Freeport, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Provena St. Joseph Home. She was born on December 31, 1914 in Spring Grove Township, Green County, WI, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Rhyner) Kundert.

She married Herman Stampfli on January 5, 1933 in Brodhead, WI. He died on August 22, 1956. She later married E. Lamont Kloepping on June 6, 1963 in Durand, Illinois. He died on July 2, 1982.

Edith was a homemaker and farmed in Rock Grove with her second husband.

Edith was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was a former member of St. Rose Altar Society, the Spring Grove Homemakers Club, the Lend a Hand Group in Rock Grove, Ill. and the Stephenson County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include her five sons, Herman (Marge) Stampfli of Freeport, Eugene (Karen) Stampfli of Brodhead, Tony (Jan) Stampfli of Freeport, Victor (Kathy) Stampfli of Schaumburg and Fred (Pam) Stampfli of Freeport; two daughters, Kathleen Mahlkuch of New Glarus, WI and Phyllis (Kenneth) Stites of Rock Grove, IL; one sister, Elaine Stewart of Brodhead; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; son Daniel; two grandsons, Eric and Richard; one brother, Raymond; and a great-granddaughter, Rosina Poss.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Msgr. P. William McDonnell will officiate. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead, WI.
