EVANSVILLE - Duane Steven Pernot, age 34, of rural Evansville, passed away at his home as a result of a house fire on March 5, 2009. He was born on October 9, 1974 in Monroe, WI, to his parents, Steven and Linda (Boeck) Pernot. Duane graduated from Belleville High School in 1993. He worked for Prairie Land Dairy in Belleville and worked previously for Olson Exteriors. Duane was baptized and confirmed at the Brooklyn Methodist Church. He loved auto racing and raced stock cars as Pernot Racing at tracks in Oregon, Jefferson, and Darlington.

Duane is survived by: his parents, Steven and Linda Pernot of Evansville; a son, Jeremy Walters of Evansville; three sisters, Vicki (Dan) Olson of Brooklyn, Stephanie Pernot (fiancé Christopher Fillner) of Evansville, and Pamela (Jeremy) Loeffelholz of Brodhead.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI with the Rev. Edwin Vargas officiating.
