Dorothy June Chesebro, age 85 of Monroe, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born July 15, 1924 in Green County, the daughter of Samuel and Crystal (Ross) Ladwig. Dorothy attended Prien Country School and graduated from Monroe High School in 1942.

Dorothy and Monty Chesebro were married on July 1, 1944 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Monroe and they farmed on the family farm. Dorothy was a member of Washington Reformation United Church of Christ, past president and member of Washington Reformation Guild, past president and member of Friendly Service Circle, Green County 4-H alumni and leader, past president and 60 year member of Green County Homemakers Club, and Eastern Star past officer and member. She and Monty hosted the 1st Green County Dairy Breakfast on the farm, and several farm and factory tours for Cheese Days. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, canning, gardening, crafts, and dancing. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband, Monty Chesebro of Monroe; daughters, Nancy (Robert) Faith of Monroe and Jan (Sylvan) Olson of Monticello; brother, Forrest (Alice) Ladwig of Monroe; grandchildren, James (Terry) Faith, Catherine (John) Kehoe, Mark (Dana) Olson, and Jill Olson; and great-grandchildren, Joel and Natalie Faith, Casey and Dana Kehoe, and Molly June Olson. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Clifford Ladwig; sisters, Phyllis Burgi and Frances Friedrichs; nephews, Duane Ladwig and Robert Burgi; niece, Barbara Friedrichs; and brother-in-law, Carl Burgi.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Washington Reformation Church, rural Monticello, with Rev. Mary Gafner officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Church.

A memorial fund has been established in Dorothy's memory.
