BELOIT - Donald F. "Don" Korback Sr., age 68, of Beloit, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 29, 2008 at Beloit Memorial Hospital. Don was born on February 4, 1940 in Madison to Frank and Mary (Reger) Korback. He worked for many years at Campion Jesuit Prep High School in Prairie du Chien and was a long time farmer in the Fennimore and Mt. Hope area. Don was an avid fan of Wisconsin sports teams including: the Badgers, Packers, Brewers and the Beloit Snappers. He loved country-western music and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Frank; his brother, Ed Korback and his family Judy and Jimmy; his brother-in-law, Nils Adolphson; his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Don is survived by: three children, Ed (Elizabeth) Korback of Colfax, Sherri Korback and John Baures of Prairie du Chien, and Donald (Julie) Korback Jr. of Ft. Atkinson; three grandchildren, Shawn and Glissaundra Korback and Alyssa Hessel; his mother, Mary Korback of Beloit; three siblings, Lorie (Jack) Fitzsimmons of Dallas, TX, Gene (Kathy) Korback of Beloit and Christine Adolphson of Monroe; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home, Dodgeville. Reverend Doug Gray will officiate with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until the time of service.
