Donald B. Wilhelmson, age 82, of Argyle, WI passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington, WI. He was born March 6, 1931 in Fayette Township, Lafayette County, WI to Adolph and Bonnie V. (Jacobson) Wilhelmson. Don attended Darlington High School. He was united in marriage to Loretta M. Holland on February 14, 1955, in Mineral Point, WI. Don and Loretta farmed with their sons on the Whiteside Dairy Farms in Wiota Township until 1997 when they retired to the village of Argyle. Don was also a Funks Seed Dealer for many years. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Don was honorably discharged in 1953.

Donald is survived by his wife Loretta at home; their children: Teena Hernandez, New Glarus, WI, LuAnn (Jon) Erickson, rural Blanchardville, WI, Jeff Wilhelmson and Kent Wilhelmson, Argyle, WI; six grandchildren: Daniel (Katie Uhalt) Hernandez, Leif (Megan) Erickson, Jesse (Lindsay) Erickson, Brooke Wilhelmson, Brittany (Chuck) Meoska, and Emily Wilhelmson; four great-grandchildren: Reese, Porter Olson, Alexis Vezakis-Erickson, and Samuel Erickson; his twin brother Dave (Judy) Wilhelmson, Monroe, WI; brothers: Paul (Glenda) Finley, Wiota, and Jack (Joan) Finley, Waukesha, WI; and sisters-in-law: Eileen Pickett and Eileen Wilhelmson, Darlington, Vera Finley, Oregon, WI and Marjorie Finley of Rockford, IL. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Walter, Robert Wilhelmson and William, Robert Finley; a sister: Mary Tesch; six brothers-in-law: Joseph Holland, Robert Bartig, Paul Gille, Merle Pickett, Ken Schewe, and Donald Van Matre; five sisters-in-law: Eleanor Bartig, Mary Gille, Lorraine Holland, Roseanna Van Matre, and Mildred Schewe; and three nephews: David Schewe, Michael Finley, and Patrick Gille.

Don was a member of Apple Grove Lutheran Church, Argyle American Legion Post #251, and was an honorary Wiota fireman. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt deer and turkey and go fishing. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Apple Grove Lutheran Church (14501 Apple Grove Church Road, Argyle Township 53504) with Rev. Dan Bohlman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Argyle, WI with Military Graveside Rites to be accorded by Argyle American Legion Post #251. A visitation will be held Monday, April 1, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (801 East Milwaukee Street, Argyle, WI 53504).
