Darlyne S. Gutzmer, age 85 of Monroe, died on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on July 14, 1925, the daughter of Awalt and Jessie (Hamman) Eichstadt. Darlyne was a Nurse's Aid at St. Clare Hospital for several years, also for Monroe Clinic Hospice and Monroe Clinic Hospital most recently. She was a former member of Peace United Church of Christ in Browntown and currently member of St. John's United Church of Christ.

Darlyne is survived by her children, Jerry L. (Connie) Gutzmer, Kim A. Gutzmer (friend Monica) all of Argyle, Janene R. (LaVerne) Jordan of Apple River, IL, Kristine R. (Gary) Frerkes of East Moline, IL, Kelli J. (Charles) Quinn of Gratiot; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; extended family, Marian Gutzmer, Lenwood (Jean) Gutzmer, Sharon Stienmetz, Sandy (Keith) Hoops; sisters-in-law, Hattie Lovelace and Rosie Krebs. She is predeceased by her husbands, Frank A. Gutzmer and William Gutzmer; son, James L. Gutzmer; grandson, James M. Gutzmer and granddaughter, Angela L. Gutzmer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date at the Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. Memorials may be directed to Monroe Clinic Hospice and or St. John's United Church of Christ.
