Daniel C. Kundert, age 63 of rural Brodhead, died Friday, April 19, 2013 following a long battle with cancer. Dan was born February 11, 1950 in Monroe, the son of Charles A. Kundert Jr. and Dorothy A. Walrack. He graduated from Juda High School in 1968 and farmed most of his life in Sylvester Township before retiring in 2012 due to declining health. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Dan also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and history.

He is survived by his wife, Jolene Kundert of Brodhead; a son, Jeffrey (Andrea) Kundert of Baraboo, WI; four daughters, Nicole (Steven) Gladem of Poynette, Jessica Kundert of Brodhead, Jenna Kundert of Monroe, Erika Kundert of Brodhead; five grandchildren; two sisters, Dianne (Steve) Holmes of Monroe, Cheryl Bechtolt and fiancé Barney Losenegger of Juda; two brothers, Eugene (Holly) Kundert and Delroy Kundert, both of Monroe; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Daryl Kundert and Dale Kundert in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Father Larry Bakke, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Dan's name.
