Dale R. Babler, age 54 of Madison, formerly of Monroe, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at HospiceCare in Fitchburg following a long illness. Dale was born May 18, 1955 in Monroe, the son of Merlyn J. and Josephine (Schwarzenberger) Babler.
He graduated from Monroe High School in 1973 and earned a degree in accounting from U.W. Madison.
Dale lived in Madison, Milwaukee, Texas, and Georgia before retiring due to declining health and returning to Madison in March, 2008.
He traveled extensively and enjoyed dining out, reading, fishing, and hiking.
He is survived by his brother, Gary Babler of Madison; loving aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins; and close friends, Linda Orton of Evansville, and Lorri Brown of Atlanta, GA.
He was preceded in death by his father on Sept. 6, 1984; his mother on June 30, 2006; and his cat, Alexander.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2010, at the Monroe United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Booth officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 23.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in his name.
