Cora L. Stine, age 98 of Monroe, died Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on October 3, 1915 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Archie and Hazel (Keller) Smull. She attended Browntown and Monroe schools. Cora and Franklin A. Stine were married on February 11, 1939 at the St. Victor Parish. She farmed with her husband Franklin in the Green County area for many years, until their retirement in 1970. Cora then worked at Oaktron Industries and later worked for St. Clare Hospital for several years. She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Women of the Moose Lodge #599 and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Cora was an avid bowler, competing in many state and national tournaments. She also enjoyed playing cards, but most of all she cherished spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Thomas (Phyllis) Stine of Friendship; daughter, JoAnn Treuthardt of Pompano Beach, FL.; grandchildren, Wendy (Richard Wyttenbach) Treuthardt and Betsy (Ron Gempeler) Treuthardt; great-grandchildren, Tyler (Cortney Bertelrud) Hanson, Cortney (Cody Hermanson) Hanson, David Stampfli and Kiel Stampfli; also several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Franklin; sisters, Betty Wolfe, EllaMae Finn and Leona Rufenacht; brothers, Veril Smull and Michael Smull; granddaughter, Mary Katherine Haller; great-great-granddaughter, Charliegh Hanson; nephew, Mickie Finn; and a niece, Kay Hilfiker.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Dr. Monroe, WI, with Fr. Michael E. Klarer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held on Monday from 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Cora's memory. The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant View Nursing Home for the kind care Cora received during her stay.
