Green County
Felonies
♦ Marianne Frances Zubek, 52, Brodhead, pleaded no contest April 10 to a noncriminal ordinance violation of disorderly conduct, downgraded from an initially filed felony charge of child abuse, and was fined $355.50. The case stems from an incident March 8 at a home on Halfway Tree Road, Town of Spring Grove. Court records indicate she threw a phone charging cable at a 16-year-old boy, injuring his face, and called him a derogatory name.
♦ Justin Daniel Nyman, 26, jailed in Monroe, pleaded no contest April 12 to a Class I felony charge of possessing THC (marijuana) and a Class A misdemeanor charge of resisting or obstructing an officer. He also had his probation revoked on previous misdemeanor convictions of disorderly conduct and resisting or obstructing an officer. He was sentenced to 30 months on probation, with conditions that he spend 110 days in jail and successfully complete the Green County Drug Court program. The most recent case, and subsequent revocation in the previous case, stems from an incident Jan. 19 at a home in the 2400 block of 10th Street in Monroe. Court records indicate Nyman was "very intoxicated and became belligerent and assaultive with subjects at the residence." Police arrived to find Nyman sobbing outside and reeking of alcohol and marijuana. He threatened to knock out an officer and resisted arrest. He was taken to the Monroe Clinic ER, where he continued to yell and swear and was pepper sprayed before being jailed. He also admitted to his probation agent that he had used the opioid painkiller Oxycontin. The agent recommended jail time as a condition of probation: "Given offender's destructive demeanor when he is drinking, it is felt that any programming is best applied in a confined setting where the offender will not have any access to alcohol."
♦ Paul Aaron Patterson, 48, Savanna, Illinois, pleaded guilty April 13 to two Class I felony counts of failure to pay child support and entered a three-year deferred prosecution agreement. Conditions of the agreement include monthly payments of $450 to the Wisconsin State Child Trust Fund. Patterson's total child support arrearages owed as of August 2017 were $10,151.85. If he complies with the agreement, the charges will be dismissed.
♦ Jeremy Lee Hendrickson, 48, Monroe, pleaded guilty April 13 to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and resisting or obstructing an officer and was sentenced to 18 months on probation. A Class H felony charge of false imprisonment was dismissed as part of a plea agreement. The case stems from incidents Feb. 20 and 21 at his home and at the Monroe Clinic ER. Court records indicate Hendrickson held down a woman on a bed, preventing her from leaving the bedroom. The next day, he was upset with ER staff and was reported for bringing a Sig Sauer P229 pistol with a live round in the chamber into the ER. Firearms are prohibited in the ER. Hendrickson had his concealed-carry weapon permit on him and told police he had not intentionally brought the firearm into the ER.
