Felonies

♦ Kevin Louis Bobolz, 38, Brodhead, pleaded no contest March 8 to a fourth-offense charge of operating while intoxicated, a Class H felony, and was sentenced to three months in jail and two years on probation. A fourth-offense charge of operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol level was dismissed but "read in" as part of a plea deal, a condition of which was that Bobolz would complete alcohol treatment prior to sentencing. He owes the court $1,428. Conditions of Bobolz's probation include not drinking or entering bars or liquor stores. The case stems from a traffic stop June 23, 2017, in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue in Brodhead. Police stopped Bobolz for not having working tail lights. He "stumbled" out of the vehicle and had bloodshot, glassy eyes and slow, slurred speech, according to police reports. A "weak breath sample" showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.11 percent.

♦ Daria Lynn Beutel, 25, Monroe, had her deferred prosecution agreement continued another year, until March 8, 2019, on a Class I felony charge of possessing narcotic drugs. Conditions of the agreement include maintaining counseling and treatment through an addiction treatment center in Madison. She failed to complete the 50 hours of community service stipulated in a prior agreement, but that condition is now waived. The case stems from an EMS call to her home in the 2200 block of Haven Lane in Monroe Oct. 19, 2015. Court records indicate she was arrested after she was found unconscious in her bedroom of an apparent heroin overdose. She was revived with Narcan.

♦ Nicole Gail Bauman, 36, Janesville, pleaded no contest March 12 to ordinance violations of disorderly conduct and battery, amended from the originally filed charges of a Class H felony count of child abuse and a Class B misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. She was fined $618. The case stems from an incident Oct. 1 at the Bank of Brodhead, 806 E. Exchange St. According to court records, Bauman punched a 17-year-old girl in the face during a dispute at a Sunday afternoon funeral luncheon. An officer who responded to the scene wrote in a report that the teenager had "dried blood on her shirt and also active bleeding" around her nose. Bauman told police the girl was "swearing and being disrespectful."

♦ Danielle Jean Donohue, 26, Merrimac, pleaded no contest March 12 to a Class I felony charge of possessing methamphetamine and entered a two-year deferred prosecution agreement. She also pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of possessing drug paraphernalia and resisting or obstructing an officer and was sentenced to two years on probation. Conditions of her deferred prosecution agreement and probation include successful completion of the Dane County Drug Court Program. The felony will be dismissed if she complies. The case stems from an accident Jan. 23, 2017, in the N7300 block of Wisconsin 69, Town of New Glarus. Court records indicate that police found Donohue with a vehicle in the ditch and she appeared to be impaired. An officer noted she "had sores on her cheeks" and was sluggish. A K-9 alerted for the presence of drugs in the vehicle. A search turned up 0.6 grams of meth, as well as needles, syringes, a rubber tourniquet and other paraphernalia for injecting meth. Donohue resisted arrest and yelled and cursed at officers.
