GREEN COUNTY FELONIES

- Christopher Joseph Martinez, 30, Monroe, was sentenced Friday, July 13, to two years of probation on Class H felony charges of strangulation and false imprisonment and misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and battery. Court records indicate Martinez was physically violent and abusive toward a pregnant woman in February in a car he drove in Monroe and around Green County highways and in March in the N3400 block of Aebly Road. Conditions of his probation include paying $636 to the court, undergoing any recommended counseling, having no contact with the victim or her child and not drinking.

- A jury trial was set Monday, July 16, for Carlos Aguirre Rivera, 39, Monroe, on 13 felony and misdemeanor charges that he violated domestic abuse injunctions and jumped bail in 2009. Rivera's trial is scheduled for October 24, 25 and 26. He pleaded not guilty to the charges in March.

MISDEMEANORS

- Curtis John Gerber, 28, Monroe, was granted a one-year stay of proceedings Monday, July 16, on a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct stemming from a dispute in May over the custody of a child in the 2700 block of 8th 1/2 Street. He pleaded not guilty to the charge on May 29. If he does not violate the law within the next year, the charge will be fully dismissed.
