FELONIES
- Christopher R. Felder, 38, Indianapolis, pleaded no contest Tuesday, July 10, to two Class I felony charges of failure to pay child support for periods of more than four months in 2005 and 2010. He was sentenced to eight years of probation, with a transfer authorized to the State of Indiana. Five counts of the same charge, for dates in 2006 through 2011, were dismissed.
- Chad E. Heath, 46, Brodhead, pleaded no contest Tuesday, July 10, to a Class A misdemeanor charge of battery stemming from a domestic incident in March. The criminal complaint indicates he struck, slapped and shoved a woman during a dispute in the N4100 block of County E in the Town of Decatur, leaving her with bruising and contusions, and choked her hard enough that she vomited. Misdemeanor and felony charges of disorderly conduct, strangulation and false imprisonment were dismissed against Heath. He was sentenced to 34 days in jail, which court records indicate he has already served. He was assessed $668 in court fees.
