Wiegel, 60, Darlington, was found guilty at a jury trial on two misdemeanor charges of unlawful phone use and sentenced Monday, July 9, to 19 days in jail with Huber Law work-release privileges and three years of probation on the conditions that he undergo an assessment for alcohol/drug abuse and not consume alcohol or unauthorized prescription medications. He was fined $243. The charges against Wiegel of making threatening phone calls stem from an incident in March. He pleaded not guilty April 23.
