Felonies

• The court Monday scheduled a March 25 plea and sentencing hearing for Benjamin A. Harder, 20, Monroe, who is charged with possession of narcotic drugs.

Court records allege he had two tablets of benzlpiperazine, which is similar to an amphetamine, in an unlabelled bottle in his possession Nov. 18 in Monroe.

He is charged with possession of a narcotic drug, a class I felony. He faces more than three years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines, if convicted.

• The court Thursday scheduled an April 16 district attorney conference for Jeffery M. Hefty, 51, New Glarus, who pleaded not guilty to attempted strangulation and suffocation, battery and disorderly conduct.

Court records allege he tried to strangle a woman, pushed her down and tried to push her down a flight of stairs Feb. 11 in a New Glarus residence.

He is charged with attempted strangulation and suffocation, a class H felony, battery, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He faces up to four years in prison and up to $16,000 in fines, if convicted.He remains free on a $5,000 signature bond.

• Ricky D. Schneider, 37, Belleville, remains free on a $1,000 signature bond after making his initial appearance Monday for possession of marijuana, fornication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Court records allege he had more than 5 grams of marijuana and a pipe used to smoke marijuana in his possession Jan. 3 in front of the Stop-N-Go in Brodhead. Records also allege he had sexual intercourse with a woman in a vehicle in front of the store Jan. 3.

He is charged with possession of marijuana, a class I felony, fornication, a class A misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor. He faces more than four years in prison and more than $20,000 in fines, if convicted.

His preliminary hearing is March 30.

Misdemeanors

• The court Monday scheduled an April 6 district attorney conference for Randall D. Daniel, 26, Freeport, Ill., who pleaded not guilty to resisting an officer.

Court records allege he stepped away from officers and struggled with officers when taken into custody Jan. 3 in Monroe.

He is charged with resisting an officer, a class A misdemeanor. He faces up to nine months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $500 signature bond.

• The court Monday scheduled an April 6 district attorney conference for Todd M. Noble Jr., 26, Browntown, who pleaded not guilty to violating a restraining order.

Court records allege he spoke to a woman in violation of a restraining order June 26 in Monroe.

He is charged with violating a restraining order, an unclassified misdemeanor. He faces up to three months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $500 signature bond.
