Misdemeanors
• The court Friday sentenced Gerald J. Wright, 20, Monroe, to 30 days in jail after he pleaded no contest to attempted battery.
He faced more than four months in jail and up to $5,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class A misdemeanor.
The court dismissed one count of obstructing an officer, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He originally faced more than one year in jail and up to $16,000 in fines.
Court records indicate he pushed another inmate against cell bars and to the floor Dec. 20 at the Green County Jail.
In a second case, Wright was sentenced to six months in jail with work release privileges after violating his probation.
Wright was placed on 18 months probation for attempted theft and attempted battery in a 2008 case. Court records indicate he stopped attending anger management classes, which was a violation of his probation.
In a third case, he was sentenced to three months probation with work release privileges after the court revoked his probation for bail jumping.
He was sentenced to 18 months probation in 2008 for violating terms of his bond for the previous case.
The sentences run concurrently.

He faced up to nine months in jail and up to $10,0000 in fines for the unclassified misdemeanor.
Court records indicate he drove four blocks after an officer signaled him to pull over April 6 in Monroe.
