Misdemeanors

- The court Jan. 20 entered into a 12-month deferred prosecution agreement with Gary T. Metz, 26, Monroe, who pleaded no contest to charges of criminal damage to property. Metz was ordered to pay about $1,160 in restitution and court costs; to obtain treatment and counseling for alcohol, domestic violence and anger management; and to abide by any other legal actions regarding the victim. The court dismissed one count of disorderly conduct,

Court records indicate Metz, on or about July 1, 2010, in the City of Monroe, punched and damaged a 50-inch plasma television set belonging to the victim. He is charged with criminal damage to property, a class A misdemeanor. He faces up to nine months in jail and $10,000 in fines, if sentenced.

He remains free on a $2,000 signature bond. In another case, the court dismissed, on prosecutor's motion, a charge of bail jumping, a class A misdemeanor, against Metz. Metz is presumed innocent of this charge.

- The court Jan. 20 sentenced Peter P. Belletiere, 28, Monroe, to 24 months probation after he pled no contest to disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. As part of the plea, the court dismissed two counts of bail jumping and one count of resisting an officer.

- The court Jan. 20 dismissed on the prosecutor's motion all charges against Lisa Ann Stevenson, 40, Brodhead, in a case filed July 7, 2010, regarding a July 5, 2010, domestic incident.

- The court Jan. 20 dismissed on the prosecutor's motion all charges against Terry Lee Simmons, 51, Monroe, in a case filed Oct. 5, 2010, regarding a July 19, 2010, incident.

- The court Jan. 20 entered into a 6-month deferred prosecution agreement with Brett A Seffrood, 22, Monroe, who pleaded no contest to charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. Seffrood was ordered to pay about $1,000 in restitution, to obtain counseling for anger management and social isolation; and to abide by other legal actions regarding the victims. The court dismissed a second count of disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor; and a second count of criminal damage to property, one count of intimidating a victim and one count of resisting an officer. Court records indicate Seffrood, on or about August 22, 2010, in the Town of Clarno, was violent and verbally abusive toward a male family member and law officers, and kicked and dented a Green County Sheriff's Department squad car. He is charged with disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor, and criminal damage to property, a class A misdemeanor.

He faces up to 12 months in jail and $11,000 in fines, if sentenced. He remains free on a $1,500 signature bond.

- The court Jan. 24 issued a bench warrant for Allen Michael Carstensen, 19, Albany, who failed to appear for a Jan. 20 plea hearing.

He is charged with resisting an officer and bail jumping, both class A misdemeanors. He faces up to 18 months in jail and $20,000 in fines, if convicted. Carstensen pleaded not guilty to the charge of bail jumping on July 26, 2010.

Court records allege Carstensen, on or about July 24, 2010, in the Village of Albany, resisted an officer who was attempting to arrest him on a warrant for failure to pay child support. In another case, the court issued a bench warrant Jan. 24 for Carstensen for failing to appear at another Jan. 20 plea hearing. He is charged with disorderly conduct, a class A misdemeanor, as a party to a crime.

He faces up to nine months in jail and $10,000 in fines, if convicted. Carstensen pleaded not guilty to the charge on June 15, 2010. Court records allege Carstensen, on or about June 13, 2010, in the Village of Albany, was yelling and swearing at a person and threatening him with bodily harm.
