Christopher K. Holcomb, age 27 of Monroe, died on Monday, June 11, 2012 in Madison. He was born on August 1, 1984 in Daytona Beach, FL, the son of Gregory and Mary (Zierold) Holcomb. Chris graduated with honors in 2003 from the Monroe Alternative Charter School. He was a junior at UW-Platteville, majoring in English and Creative Writing. He worked at Minhas Craft Brewery for 6 years until entering college where he worked for Media Services, in the School of Education AV Lab, and the Humanities Department at UW-Platteville. Chris attended Monroe Bible Church as a youth. He was actively involved in skateboarding, disc golf and golf and participated in the Anime, Art and Disc Golf Clubs at UW-Platteville. He also created music, played guitar and was a gifted writer.

He is survived by his parents, Greg and Mary (Zierold) Holcomb and a sister, Rachel Elizabeth Holcomb. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Marvin and Jessie (Monteith) Holcomb and Edward and Dorothy (Crow) Zierold.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, with Pastor Dan Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Chris's memory.
