SOUTH WAYNE/MINERAL POINT - Cecelia A. Seffrood, 92, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at the Dodgeville Hospital where she had been admitted earlier that day. Cecelia had been a resident at Sienna Meadows in Mineral Point since Jan. 15, 2003.
Cecelia was born on July 28, 1915 in Mineral Point, WI, the daughter of Peter and Caroline (Jungers) Kieffer. She grew up and attended schools in the Mineral Point area. She married Clarence N. Seffrood (deceased March 1981) and they farmed in the South Wayne area for many years. After her husband passed, Cecelia continued to live on the farm, which she loved very much, until she was moved to Sienna Meadows. She was active with farm operations along with her husband and children and took great care of her animals as she was always concerned about their welfare. She truly loved the country life.
Cecelia was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in South Wayne, WI, where she was treasurer for the Altar Society for many years and also taught catechism. Her church and friends at St. John's were very important to her.
Cecelia is survived by three children, Robert (Cynthia), Albany, WI, Mary (Charles) Field, Madison, WI, and Gregory (Rachel) of Monroe, WI. Survivors also include grandchildren, Michael Seffrood, Albany, WI, Martha (David) Stadt, Evansville, WI, Alexander Field, Minneapolis, MN, and Jennifer Seffrood, Tempe, AZ and great-granddaughter, Alicia Stadt, Evansville, WI. Also two step-grandchildren, Jaime King and Jessica Hrubes; six step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include two sisters, Ann Tibbits, Mineral Point, WI and Clara Hart, Marinette, WI; and two brothers, John Kieffer, Darlington, WI and William Kieffer, Appleton, WI. Also sisters-in-law, Donna Kieffer, Carol Kieffer and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Kenneth, who passed away in 1968; her parents; five brothers, Ted, Ernest, Edward, Joseph and Francis; and a sister, Mary.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. David Wanish officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Drive, Monroe, WI, and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Apostolate to the Handicapped, Special Olympics, or a charity of your choice.
