Brenda Lea Hickey, age 55 of Wyoming, formerly of Monroe, died on Saturday, July 5, 2008 in Monroe. She was born on October 25, 1952, the daughter of Eugene and Genevieve (Miller) Boss. She was a 1970 graduate of Monroe High School. Brenda and Charles P. Hickey were married on October 23, 1976 at St. John's United Church of Christ. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, her wide range of friends and working associates. But most of all Brenda loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and family members.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Charles P. Hickey of Cheyenne, Wyoming; her children, Jennifer (Shawn Teasdale) Hickey of Monroe, Christopher (Jennifer) Hickey of Edgerton, Nicholas Hickey of Madison, Thomas Hickey of La Crosse, John Hickey of Monroe; grandchildren, Taylor and Anya "Weasel" Teasdale; brother, Jerry (Jackie) Boss of Monroe; niece, Janean Boss; nephews, Jacob (Marci) Boss, Joshua Boss and Mitch Millner; also many dear and close friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents; parents; nephew, Jeremy and uncle, James Boss.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Victor Catholic Church. Con-celebrants will be Monsignor Thomas Campion, Fr. Michael E. Klarer and Fr. Kent Schmitt. Burial will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. A Rosary service will be held on Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Apostolate to the Handicapped in Brenda's memory.
