Betty A. Felder age 81 of Monroe, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at U.W. Hospital. Betty was born October 8, 1930 in Monroe, the daughter of Martin and Clara (Christen) Blum. She attended Monroe High School and married R. Fred Felder on September 21, 1951 in Monroe.

Betty and Fred owned Felder's Bar on the square until 1972 and operated the V.F.W. Post #2312 until Fred's death on March 24, 1978. Betty then worked in the St. Clare Hospital dietary dept., bartended at Turner Hall, and most recently was cleaning homes.

She was an active member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary to Cecil Jones Post #2312 and Women of the Moose Chapter #599.

She is survived by a son, Gary L. Felder of Monroe; a daughter, Jacki A. Felder of Merritt Island, FL; two granddaughters, Megan (Curtis) Sardeson of Fuquay-Varina, N.C. and Lauren Felder of Lake Mills, WI; two great-grandchildren, Chase and Zoe Sardeson; three brothers, John (Dorothy) Blum of Monroe, Jake (Laura) Blum of WI, and Charles (Barbara) Blum of Freeport. She is also survived by two beloved cats, Paws and Lucky.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Elsie Loeffel.

A visitation for Betty will be held from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with a V.F.W. Auxiliary Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. There will be no funeral service. Memorials may be given in Betty's name to the Green County Humane Society.
