Barbara Jean Krebs, age 66 of Monroe, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at the New Glarus Home. She was born on January 20, 1941 to John and Effie (Schnitzler) Dickson and attended Monroe Schools. Barb was united in marriage to Ronald Krebs on February 22, 1964 in Monroe and lived in the Browntown, Monticello, Argyle and Monroe areas during her lifetime. Barb was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe and worked with Ronald at the Speedway Gas Station in Monroe until 1987. She later worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken and Country Kitchen in Monroe. Barb enjoyed snowmobiling, bowling, motorcycle riding, playing bingo, traveling, camping, doing arts and crafts, and cooking. Barb will be lovingly remembered and missed by family and friends.
Barb is survived by her five children: sons, Curtis (Linda) Dickson of Monroe, WI and David (Sandra) Krebs of Burkburnett, TX, Rhonda Field of Jackson, WY, Christine (Richard) Nipple of Argyle, WI and Lynn Wenger of Brooklyn, WI; grandchildren, Erika (Brett) Gassman, David (Melissa Bunders) Dickson, Jacob, Jacque, and Zach Krebs, Brandon and Ryan Field, Nicole (Russ) Meinert, Brooke Nipple, Rhandee, Robin and Ronnie Wenger; and great-grandchildren, Mason Krebs, Jordan Gassman, and Braelyn Meinert. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald; parents, John and Effie Dickson; brothers, Davis and Robert Dickson; and sister, Mary Ann Dickson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2008 at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Avenue in Monroe.
Memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Gretchen Sylvester officiating. The family will have a private interment.
A memorial fund is being established in Barbara's memory.
