Barbara Jean (Komprood) Champion age 72 of Shullsburg, Wisconsin born December 5, 1944, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017. Barb attended St. Matthew's Grade School & Shullsburg Public School. She married the love of her life, Ronald Champion, on August 11, 1962, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Shullsburg. In 1965 they made their home at 128 East Faith Street, always welcoming family.

Barb cared for her family, later working as Religious Education Coordinator for St. Matthew's Catholic Church. In 1986 Barb attended Capri Cosmetology & fulfilled her dream of opening her own hair salon - Studio 128 on May 11, 1989.

She loved her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. She was a Life Member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Barb is survived by her Daughters: Mary Susan, Patricia Joan, Deborah Ann; Sons-in-Law: Rodney Hicks and Ronald Ray; Grandchildren: Marques (Kari) Hicks, Elizabeth (Bobby) Mosley, Victoria Hicks, Aaron Hicks, Madison Champion Wymore, Nicholas Wymore, Angela Champion, Juliana (Marty) Campbell, Douglas Champion, Nicole Champion, Paige (Alex) Jacobson, Dexter Ray, Payton Ray; Great-grandchildren: Carson, Berlyn, Owen, Lailah, Parker, Preston, Arabella, Rigley, Kayden, Malaya, Aurora, Bexley, Maegie, and Braeden.

Barb was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronnie; parents: Betty & Curtiss Komprood; brother: David John; parents-in-law: Anita & Arnold Champion; and loving son, Timothy Alan Champion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 344 North Judgement Street, Shullsburg, with Rev. John Bosco Pudhota of Our Lady of Fatima Parish of Darlington officiating. Burial will be at St. Matthew's Cemetery in Shullsburg. A visitation will be held Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, with a Catholic Daughters of the Americas Rosary Prayer Service at 8:45 a.m. The Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg is serving the family. Barb was a wonderful wife, devoted mother, and loving grandmother. She shared her Catholic Faith and Adoration of Mary & the Rosary to all of us. She gave beauty to the world with her words, actions, and hands. She and Ronnie shared a love and life together for 52 years on earth. That love continues in Heaven.
