Arthur Frank Myers, age 95, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2011, at the A Lane Adult Care Center in Phoenix, AZ.

He was born in Spring Grove township in Green County, on January 19, 1916, the son of Alfred Clayton Myers and Gertrude (Deininger) Myers. He attended elementary school in Monroe for five years and then Center School, a one-room country school. He graduated from Juda High School in 1934, attended Madison Business College, and graduated from Chicago Reporting School.

Art spent over four years during WWII working for the Office of Naval Intelligence in Singapore, Java, Brisbane and Melbourne. When the Japanese invaded Singapore, he escaped on the last boat to leave. Upon his return to the United States, he was employed for 30 years in the insurance business in Milwaukee and Denver. He married Audeen Lueders in Milwaukee in 1953. After his retirement in 1975, they moved to Arizona.

Art had many interests but especially loved traveling, walking, other outdoor activities, and crossword puzzles. He also loved Green County Limburger cheese. He was a member of the Masons, Shriners, Toastmasters, and was also a Big Brother for several children in the Denver area. He ushered and helped with collection at Red Rocks Amphitheater Easter sunrise services for many years. After moving to Arizona, Art served as president of their condo association for several years. He enjoyed "coming back home" for family reunions and visiting his many Deininger cousins. Art had a wonderful sense of humor which he maintained until the end.

Art is survived by his wife, Audeen, Peoria, AZ; several nieces and nephews, including Beverly (Lee) Dunn, Galion, OH, and Kathleen (Don) Mann, Madison, WI.
