Anne K. Hoerburger, age 98, passed into eternal life on January 17, 2015. Anne was born on June 8, 1916 at Seymour Corners Cheese Factory in Darlington, WI to Alexander and Emma C. (Gisinger) Hoerburger.

Anne was a lifelong learner having studied and taught 90 years. Anne began her education in Argyle, WI and graduated with the Argyle High School class of 1934. She then studied at Marquette University earning both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees. She spent her life teaching English Literature, Music, German and Special Education. Throughout her long teaching career, Anne taught at Little Falls, MN, St. Benedict de Moor, Marquette University, Horace Mann Junior High, Frank Lloyd Wright Middle School, and West Allis Central High School. After retiring from teaching Anne continued to study a variety of subjects, and teach German for seniors at the LaFarge Lifelong Learning Institute and Wilson Park Senior Center. Anne was also an active member of the LaFarge Senior Soccer Team playing until the age of 92.

Music was another passion of Anne's and she was a member of the LaFarge Senior Recorder Ensemble giving concerts to senior centers around the city. As a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Anne was active in their Resurrection Choir and various other groups. Anne devoted her life to helping others in any way she could, especially in the classroom. Anne is survived by her brother, Rev. Henry "Fr. Heinie" Hoerburger of Elk Mound, WI and her sister Helen Rysse of Ann Arbor, MI. Anne was blessed with a large and loving family of many nieces and nephews: Terry Rasmussen, Darlington, WI; Joanne (Joe) Suchy, Elkhorn, WI; David (Helene) Rasmussen, Winter Park, FL; Lisa (Bill) Coughlin, Granger, IN; Jean (Paul) Gersbach, Lynnwood, WA; Anne Rysse, Saginaw, MI; Rita Sauer, Neenah, WI, 16 grand-nieces and nephews, and a great-niece and nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Rose (Rasmussen) and Marie, her niece Rita (Rysse) Fiolek, and nephew Stephen Rasmussen.

A Memorial Mass in celebration of Anne's life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church, Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers Anne requested memorials are made to a charity of your choosing. On-line guestbook is at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
